Project conception

The design of new R&D should consider, on one hand, the technological innovation is desired to be developed and, on the other, establish the best option to get to implement the results in the private sector. This is important since exciting ideas, from a scientific and technological perspective, have very limited potential for industrial applications, because there are no suitable business partners in the country, they do not have the necessary complementary assets, the existing invention patents limits the scope excessively or there are no favorable competitive conditions at the national level, among many other reasons.

On the contrary, other project ideas, although they might be less appealing from a technological perspective, have much more favorable applications under the country own conditions. Open and deep discussion about possible ideas for R&D projects, ideally with business representatives, is therefore a fundamental and essential step, to establish a new research initiative.
