The vast experience in projects execution with the public and private sector and the solid technical expertise of professionals at Environmental Area allow coping with a wide range of challenges and problems related to the responsible management and development of technologies aimed at management, assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts.
During 2007 and 2008, ties with companies in diverse economic areas of the country were fostered. This coincided with a technical maturity of the work team, which was reflected in the recognition the area reached not only by the private sector, but also by state agencies. Regarding this, it was possible to participate in the national regulation proposal for dioxins, furans, PCBs, VOCs emissions control, recommendation for odor evaluation method and Waste General Regulation. Another important aspect was the accreditation of the Environmental Laboratory, under standard ISO 17025, for waste hazard-assessment and sampling.
In 2008 with the beginning of CCTE-UDT activities, work with forest sector increased significantly as a result of an outreach program of UDT work in pulp and paper industries mainly.
