Infrastructure

UDT has its own custom-made building located on a 9-acre area in the Industrial Park of Coronel, about 25 km far from Concepción. In 2,600 m2, it has equipped offices, meeting rooms, an auditorium, a library, a cafeteria, seven specialized laboratories, two processes rooms designed and equipped for process scale-up and pilot plants housing.
 
These modular multipurpose process rooms count with utilities such as electricity, steam, water, compressed and vacuum air, and a central system of collection and processing of liquid and gaseous effluents. Besides, it has specialized equipment focused on the requirements of pulp, paper and board industries, chemical plastic transformation industries as well as environmental and energy needs of the entire private sector.

The building was financed through a project of infrastructure FONTEC-CORFO, a grant from the Fund for Technological Innovation in the Bio-Bio Region and resources of the University and UDT. The equipment was partially provided by a grant from the German petrochemicals consortium Veba Oel AG, resources from the project “Research Center of Advanced Polymers (CIPA)” of rhe regional R&D program of CONICYT, and from specific projects, executed by UDT.
