Liquid fuels

Liquid fuels constitute about one third of the secondary energy in Chile. Therefore, with steadily increasing oil prices, it becomes a strategic necessity to develope liquid fuels from renewable sources, such as forest biomass.  

CCTE-UDT is concentrating on production and use of pirolysis liquids (bio-oil). Liquid products  from chemical and thermochemical processing of lignocellulosic materials  are also subjects of interest of the Chemical Products Area.
