Resumen:The goal of this project is to develop a new multiple criteria dynamic simulation tool to support decision making through quantifying, modeling, assessing and optimizing energetic use for its best contribution to the sustainable development. This model will be a further development and a combination of multiple criteria decision tools, analytic hierarchy process, calibrated indicator assessment, with constraints and system dynamics approach. The model will apply objectives systems with elicitation methods, spreadsheet tools, Vensim dynamic simulation software, and statistical methods, as well as optimization and sensitivity analysis. Besides, the work requires the involvement of stakeholders, application of weighing methods, a high-level data management process and “what-if” assessments.
The built tool will be applied in the Region of Aysén, Chile. The developed model will be easily transferable for any region or country worldwide, to systematically assess dynamic progresses of sustainable development, and the role and contribution of the energy sector within it. Being the tool flexible and easy to use, its several possible users can be identified, such as energy planners, policy makers, market participants, governments, local decision makers, energetic and environmental political entities, and would serve as a good systematic analysis tool for researchers, lecturers and/or students.
